(Billi) Mitchell (MBE) collected the stories and recollections of people from all backgrounds throughout the Yorkshire Dales, Cumbria and Lancashire. This unique collection - the work of one of Yorkshire's most respected commentators - captured the essence of the communities. Bill's collection of hundreds of audio recordings, videos, slides, photos and documents capture the language, dialects, memories and experiences of people and communities within the area. It includes interviews with Yorkshire legends like Hannah Hauxwell and James Herriot as well as ordinary people. The physical collection is now dispersed and is being brought together digitally; items: 600 Compact Cassette, 19 Digital Audio Files, Hi8 Video Tapes
