Collection name: Reminiscence Theatre Archive; Subjects: Oral History, Drama & Literature: The archive is the surviving records of the many theatre productions developed between 1983 and 2005 when Pam Schweitzer was Founder and Artistic Director of Age Exchange Theatre Trust. It contains audio recordings of interviews, transcripts, photographs, publications, theatre scripts, videos, tour schedules and press coverage. Many of the records relate to professional productions of verbatim shows developed from the interviews with older people around specific themes in social history of the twentieth century. These shows toured nationally and internationally. Other material reflects shows involving older people as performers, and these were developed through improvisation from their own experience. The archive also includes records of inter-generational reminiscence shows performed by young and old together; items: 450 Compact Cassette, 84 MiniDisc, 340 Digital Audio Files, DVDs of theatre productions, now mostly also available through the website. Some VHS recordings also survive. Also many paper records, such as original press-cuttings, scripts, tour schedules, etc, but many of these are available on-line under each production. There are also copies of the illustrated reminiscence publications made from transcribed and edited oral history interviews connected with each theatre production. Other Formats
