Collection name: Audio Collection. Subjects: Oral History, World, Folk & Traditional Music, Documentary & News: The audio collection of the Jewish Museum consists of around 530 items. These are mainly recorded interviews on cassette tape made by the Jewish Museum (the first recording dates from 1976), covering subjects such as the Jewish East End, the wedding photographer Boris Bennett, Yiddish Theatre, tailoring and women’s tailoring, Refugees from Nazism, the Jewish West-End, the Sephardi community and the Holocaust. In 2012, 150 interviews were digitised and fully transcribed and made accessible via Europeana.
